Admission Criteria
For the FYUGP, FYIMP, and FYIPGP programs, admissions will be conducted through either the CUET or non-CUET modes via the common admission portal. Students can select up to six programs, marking their preferences, which will be considered by the higher educational institutions when preparing merit lists.
Institutions will conduct academic scrutiny based on eligibility criteria after verifying marks through the SAMARTH portal. Once the merit lists are generated, students will receive admission offers via email and SMS. Acceptance of the offer is required for the processing of admission.
If a student is offered admission to a higher preference program in subsequent merit lists, they can request cancellation of their previous admission by the specified deadline, ensuring an automatic approval for the cancellation request.
For more details, please refer to the official SAMARTH portal.
The number of students listed in the Merit list for each program and discipline will strictly adhere to the sanctioned seat matrix for the Major program within that discipline. For programs that are discipline-specific, the Merit list will follow the sanctioned seat matrix for that particular program. Once a college or university offers admission to candidates, it is essential for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to admit students after document verification and in accordance with the relevant college or university policies.
HEIs may choose to publish waiting lists at their discretion. However, this is not mandatory, and if students on the waiting list are not included in the subsequent merit list, neither the Department of Higher Education nor the SAMARTH team will be held accountable.
Colleges and universities have the authority to verify the income certificates submitted by applicants during the admission process. If there are any doubts regarding the income status being below 4 lakhs, the institution may request additional documentation from the candidate to validate their claim. Admission under the Fee Waiver category will only be granted once the institution is fully satisfied with the authenticity of the claim. If the institution finds the claim unsatisfactory, they must inform the applicant in writing, providing justification, and the applicant will then be admitted under the non-fee waiver category.
Higher Education Institutions will have access to view their fee status, which includes payments made through cash or payment gateways. The net amount, calculated as admission fees minus any cancellations, will be transferred to the HEI’s account upon the completion of the admission cycle for 2026-27.
